A message from the father,

Roger and Ziad graduated from high school in Lebanon. Due to limited education opportunities at home, it was their own wish to continue their higher education in the U.S., In this great country which accommodates and provides education for millions of Americans and Non-Americans. Both Roger and Ziad received Engineering Degrees from LSU at New Orleans financing their education by working at five star hotels in New Orleans. Following graduation, they obtained good positions with large firms working hard and honest, guided by good principals, evident reflections of adapting the family tradition principals.

When it was obvious to us that my sons had made Tampa their home, it was time for the rest of the family to make a tough decision. It was my ambition to live the rest of my life among my children. It became even more clear that we were destined to live here when our only daughter found her love one while she was still in Lebanon. He was from Orlando. She is now married and living in Orlando. And since we have visited here in the past and enjoyed it, my wife and I decided to move here permanently and make it our new home. Our third son Wassim, followed us couple of years later.

In 2001 both of my sons decided to open Byblos Café for very basic reasons. Mama’s food is good, fresh, and healthy. Let’s introduce it to and share it with our friends and neighbors.

It was a success. Our friends, neighbors, the media, and the food critics will tell the rest of the story.
